Laser Eye Surgery

Laser refractive surgery can now correct most prescriptions, including myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism. It works best for people under the age of 45, as we often need reading glasses (presbyopia) when we reach our forties and single-vision laser correction does not correct for this as well. However, there is now a presbyopic laser treatment that may aid the correction of near and distance vision.

There are advantages and disadvantages to the procedures and these will vary for each individual; thus, it is best to discuss them with your optometrist. If you are interested in correcting your vision through surgical methods, our doctors will help you to understand all of the advantages and disadvantages of the currently accepted procedures. If we feel that you are a good candidate for vision-correcting surgery, we can perform all necessary pre-operative tests and provide you with the best follow-up care.
